Peugeot 406 2000 Review

Today, we see a large number of European Vehicles in Sri Lanka. So, let’s talk about a popular European car, the Peugeot 406. This is a large family car manufactured by Peugeot, a French automobile manufacturer, and is available in three body styles: saloon, estate, and coupe. Peugeot 405, Peugeot 406 replaced it. It was thereafter succeeded by the Peugeot 406 and Peugeot 407. Today, CarsGuide is evaluating the Peugeot 406 2000.

Exterior Design

When it comes to the outside of the Peugeot 406, we can observe a good look at first sight. There are headlights and turn signal lights in the front. It has a low beam of projector lights and a high beam Halogen reflector. This vehicle’s headlights have been outfitted with headlight washers as an added bonus. The grill is visible on the front bumper. On both sides, there are two little fog lamps. At the front, disc brakes are offered.

Let’s go on to the side view. The side markings are visible. Because it has two doors, the Peugeot 406 is smaller than other coupe models. This vehicle is 4600 mm in length.
In the back, both brake and turn signal lights have been provided as a single set. It has improved the vehicle’s appearance. In addition, rear disc brakes are available.

Because the Peugeot 406 is a coupe, it should have a ground clearance of 135-140 mm on average. However, the makers have specified a ground clearance of 125 mm for this vehicle.The Peugeot 406 has a reasonably spacious boot. It has 430 liters of boot space. Also visible is the spare wheel under the boot floor.

Interior Design

As soon as we get into the Peugeot 406, we see an interior upholstered in brown leather material.When we first look at the driver cabin, we notice two leather seats that are quite comfortable. Also visible on the side of the seats are electric seat movers. We can modify the seats as needed using these controls. The driver’s cabin has plenty of legroom. And, speaking of headroom, there is plenty of it.

Shutter controllers have been installed on the driver’s side door in addition to the side mirror controllers. Under it, speakers may be seen.

Analog meters have been supplied in the meter console for the speedometer, RPM meter, temperature, fuel, and oil meters. The current gear position is shown underneath the RPM meter. The mileage is displayed on a little digital meter in the center. When discussing the center console, you can see the handbrake lever with a little storage compartment. Seat heater control buttons are located in front of it. Climate controls, as well as a music system, are located in the center of the dashboard. Above it, an aftermarket digital display has been placed. A fairly spacious glove compartment is visible. There is a leather steering wheel included.

Because there are no doors for the back of the Peugeot 406, you must enter the passenger compartment through the front doors. You can enter the passenger compartment by adjusting the front seats. There are three leather seats in the passenger compartment. The middle can be utilized as an armrest if there is no third passenger.

However, because there are three seats available, all three passengers can be accommodated. However, because there is a floor hump in the middle, the center passenger may be uneasy. When it comes to legroom, there isn’t much. And there isn’t enough headroom for tall folks. Seat back pockets have been installed in both front seats.

Performance

The Peugeot 406 has a 3.0-liter Petrol V6 engine and it generates 204 horsepower, 280 Newton-meters of torque.

A four-speed automatic transmission is coupled to the engine. It is a front-wheel-drive car.

The Peugeot 406 can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 232 km/h. The fuel usage is 10.1 liters per 100 kilometers. So, with a fuel tank size of 70 gallons, you can go 693 kilometers.

Safety & Technology

Let’s now discuss how the Peugeot 406’s safety has been certified by the manufacturers. It included airbags for both the driver and the front passenger.

Peugeot 406 safety features include ABS, Electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), Electronic brake assist, and Brake Pad Wear Indicator. Engine Immobilizer is also a safety function.

Because this vehicle is front-wheel drive, even when launched, traction is inadequate. With this safety, though, the Peugeot 406 received a 3-star rating.
