Toyota Pixis 2016 Review

Some cars have a modest exterior and internal dimensions. However, despite its diminutive size, the Toyota Pixis is a unique vehicle on the interior. It was created by Daihatsu. Toyota Pixis is a kei car, kei truck, and microvan series sold by Toyota Motor Corporation under the Toyota name. So far, there have been two generations of Toyota Pixis. Among these, the CarsGuide team is looking at the first-generation Toyota Pixis, which was released in 2016.

Exterior Design

Toyota Pixis is a little car, but its front end has a strong presence. The chrome Toyota symbol can be seen in the middle of the grill. Fog lights and halogen headlights are examples of front lighting. Windshield wipers, included.

On the side, there are 14-inch alloy wheels. The two front wheels are equipped with solid disc brakes. Body-colored door handles and side mirrors are seen.

When you look at the back, you can see the Toyota symbol in the center of the tailgate, along with windshield defoggers. However, the car lacks windshield wipers.
In terms of ground clearance, the Toyota Pixis has a 150 mm clearance. However, because the Toyota Pixis belongs to the Hatchback category, the average ground clearance is 168 mm.There is limited boot space. But if necessary, the rear seats can be folded to improve boot capacity. Under the boot floor, you can see the tire repair kit and other accessories.

Interior Design

The interior of the Toyota Pixis is finished in plastic material.There are two driver cabin seats visible. These are not bucket seats, but rather regular ones. However, the seats are made of a comfortable material, simple to clean.Typically, there is a high seating position. There are no multi-function buttons on the steering wheel. Because the gear lever sits on the dashboard, there is plenty of room in the center console. The AC controllers are simple to use. A 12-Volt outlet, a storage bin, two cup holders, and the handbrake are located beneath that. The fuel cap open is beneath it. When it comes

to the doors, they are manufactured quite thinly. In addition, very small door bins have been installed, and cabin room has been enhanced. Because the Toyota Pixis is a little vehicle, designers worked hard to maximize space.

There is an aftermarket infotainment system available. It can only control media. However, if necessary, we have given space for an infotainment system to be installed. The meter console features three distinct displays. You can see information regarding energy saving, outdoor temperature, and how far you can drive with the amount of fuel available on the left side display. You may also notice basic information like speed from the central display, gear position, trip details, and fuel level from the right side display. The speed is displayed in large numbers on this digital speedometer. You can see the Eco-Idle off button and Headlight controllers at the lower right side of the meter console.

The passenger cabin has three standard seats. They can travel comfortably with two passengers. However, with three passengers, it feels crowded. The center passenger may also be uneasy because of the minor floor hump. A person of average height has enough headroom. The passenger cabin, like the driver cabin, provides plenty of legroom. Seatback pockets are not available in the front seats.

The Toyota Pixis, on the other hand, offers a stunning cabin.

Performance

A 660cc inline 3-cylinder engine powers the Toyota Pixis. Turbocharged engines are available in vehicles with low-capacity engines. However, this vehicle has a naturally aspirated engine. At 6800rpm, the maximum power supplied by this 660cc inline 3-cylinder engine is 52 horsepower. At 5200rpm, the maximum torque is 60 Nm.

The engine is linked to a CVT transmission. The Toyota Pixis is classified as a front-wheel-drive car. It also has an all-wheel drive system. But in Sri Lanka, we don’t get to see that.
The Toyota Pixis has a low fuel consumption due to its light weight. It ranges between 28 and 35 kilometers per liter. And the fuel tank holds 34 gallons.

Ride Quality

When it comes to the ride of the Toyota Pixis, the front windshield provides the driver with superb sight. A pillar does not significantly impair visibility. The rear-view mirror also provides generally adequate rear viewing. However, view in the rear seats is limited due to the headrests. Vehicles approaching from the side can be seen clearly through the side mirrors of this car.

The steering wheel has a decent grip. If you require greater grip, you can cover the steering wheel. The turning radius measures 4.4 m. As a result, it may be turned in less space.

Safety & Technology

Let us now discuss the Toyota Pixis’s safety and how far the manufacturers have thought it through. There are two airbags visible.
