KIA Sorento 2012

We all want our existing vehicle or the vehicle we are about to buy to be comfortable and appealing to everyone. The KIA Sorento is one such vehicle. There have been four generations of the KIA Sorento. So, CarsGuide, today we will evaluate the Kia Sorento 2012 car, also known as the KIA Sorento 2nd generation vehicle.

Exterior Design

When it comes to the exterior, everyone is drawn to the front view of the vehicle. So, let’s start with the front look of the KIA Sorento.

Headlight washers have been installed on this car. Furthermore, the grill in the front view indicates the ‘tiger nose’ design.

Next, as we look at the vehicle from the side, we notice the keyless entry option. That is, simply by pressing the button on the door, you can lock and unlock the vehicle. There is no sunroof on this vehicle. You can easily enter the vehicle by opening the doors at a good angle.

This vehicle’s engine technology is referred to as CRDi in the rear view. There are also two reflectors visible.

This vehicle has 17-inch alloy wheels. The Kia Sorento has 184 mm of ground clearance.
The boot space in this car is 116 liters. The boot capacity may be extended to 1530 liters by folding the two seats in the third row.

Interior Design

The Sorrento boasts seven leather seats and has legroom and headroom in the second row, as well as plenty of space. In general, there is plenty of headroom in the third row. Even though the leather seats in the third row are pleasant, there is insufficient leg room, making it extremely uncomfortable.

Brushed aluminum or silver metallic door handles catch the eye at once. There are also ambient light bars on all four entrances. This interior also includes the differential control lock button and the headlight washers control button. One of the unique aspects of the KIA Sorento is that when it starts, the KIA logo appears. After displaying the logo, it changes to ‘Welcome’. When getting out of the vehicle, the word ‘Goodbye’ appears on the display.

The steering wheel is built of materials that are easy to grip. Its leather is also of high quality and the wheel is a dual multi-function steering one. Audio controllers are on the left side, and cruise controllers are on the right.

At the front of the car, four primary AC louvers can be observed. The two AC louvers on the left side face the front passenger, while the two AC louvers on the right side face the driver. Dual climate controllers have also been installed for the front passenger and driver. As a result, they have control over the air conditioning. There are no AC vents on the second row. However, there are two AC louvers and controls on both sides of the third row.

The first and second rows both have dual cup holders. On both sides of the third row are shopping hooks and a cup holder. These details suggest the Kia Sorento provides a convenient storage room for the third-row occupants as well.

This vehicle’s interior also includes Bluetooth, mp3, and a CD player. As a result, the inside of this KIA Sorento has been built to be both comfy and luxurious.

Performance

The engine in the Kia Sorento is a 2.2 liter inline 4-Diesel.
This engine produces 197 horsepower. It also has a torque of 491 Nm and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 10 seconds. The maximum speed is 190 km/h.
When it comes to the drive train, this car has an all-wheel drive transmission. However, a two-wheel drive transmission is available.

The Kia Sorento vehicle consumes 1 liter of petrol every 9 kilometers. However, when traveling outside of the city, the fuel usage is 9 liters every 16 kilometers. This vehicle’s fuel tank capacity is 96 liters.

Ride Quality

It is easier to operate a vehicle if we have a clear view of the road through the windscreen. As a result of the Sorento’s large windscreen, you have a great view and comfortable drive.

In addition, we cannot see the hill descent control or hill climb aid in this vehicle. As a result, the overall off-road capability is limited.You may also notice some shaking while driving.This vehicle has a turning radius of 10.9 m.

Safety & Technology

The Kia Sorento can be introduced as a vehicle with good safety among the existing ones.
Three types of airbags can be seen to provide protection to the driver and passengers in situations such as crashes and collisions that may occur while driving. Those three types of airbags are , front-impact airbags, side impact airbags and overhead airbags.

Since this vehicle has anti-lock brakes, we are fully protected in case of sudden braking. Also, because there is stability control, when the driver is unable to control the vehicle, this stability control is automatically activated by reducing the power of the engine, applying the selected brakes, the vehicle is prevented from losing control.

Furthermore, Anti-whiplash and security systems are also included among the safety features of the Kia Sorento vehicle.
