Toyota Crown 2014 Review
What's on the page
When we think of European cars, we think of really comfortable and luxurious vehicles. However, we’re talking about a Japanese car with similar features today. That is the Toyota Crown. The Crown has been in production since 1955. And among them is the 14th generation Toyota Crown 2014, which we are examining at CarsGuide.
Exterior Design
Rain sensing wipers may be seen on the front of the Toyota Crown, along with a one-of-a-kind headlight design. Because the Crown insignia is engraved on the headlight, they present a distinct design, similar to that of European vehicles. Aside from that, ordinary signal lights and a projector bulb are visible. A built-in LED strip can also be viewed as a Daytime running light system. Below this, there are powerful fog lamps.
When it comes to the grill, a diamond pattern grill is included. As a result, the car has a wider appearance. The symbol, unlike other cars, is not made of chrome. There is an emblem with a gleaming finish. On the bottom are ICA sensors that aid in cruise control and parking. A bumper lip can be viewed from below to improve the vehicle’s appearance.
18-inch alloy wheels are included which are unique to the Crown. Also, the Crown logo can be seen on the alloy wheels. The disc brake option has been provided to all four wheels, with the two front wheels given a ventilated disc brake type. Since this is a 2-in motor hybrid car, you can see the hybrid logo on the side. Talking about the side mirrors, there is the winker mirror option, power and retractable options. Since there is a smart key, the keyless entry option is available. You can also observe a chrome design on the door handles. The look of the vehicle has been enhanced by the crown emblem on the side behind the rear door. Apart from that, the appearance of this car has been increased by the side skirt given to it.
When you approach the rear, you will notice conventional signal lights and a reverse light. The Crown badge is visible on one side of the tailgate, and the Toyota insignia is visible in the center. On the other side, near the bottom, there is a Hybrid logo. Two ICA sensors are seen beneath the tailgate. There are also four silencers included.
When it comes to the boot area, the smart key has a button to open it. The most notable feature is the soft closing tailgate. That is, if we accidentally fail to close the tailgate properly, it automatically closes. It also offers a large boot space. A repair kit is located beneath the boot floor. However, no spare wheel is provided. There is also a storage container seen here.
The Toyota Crown is classified as a sedan, and as a result, this vehicle has a good ground clearance for a sedan.
Interior Design
Let’s start with the driver’s cabin while discussing the inside of the Toyota Crown.
The driver cabin has two comfortable seats with a curved design. The driver’s and front passenger seats can also be controlled electrically. There is plenty of leg and headroom.
When it comes to the center console, the armrest is slightly higher than in other vehicles. As is customary, a storage container has been included. The unique feature of this is that it can be opened on both sides. That means both the front passenger and the driver can simply open it. There are two cup holders available. You can close it and store a phone if you don’t use it. The eCVT gearbox’s gear lever can be operated conveniently. In front of this is another storage container, and you can see a USB stick in this.
When we go to the dashboard, we can see the Infotainment system’s CD loader at the bottom. When it comes to steering wheel, there is one with four-way adjustment. In addition, multi-function buttons have been provided. The cruise control can be thought of as a lever. There is a nice-looking meter panel with two analog meters in the meter console.
When you enter the passenger cabin, you will notice three chairs. The middle seat can be used as an armrest if necessary. The armrest is likewise meant to be quite comfy. There are also two cup holders. Leg and headroom are normally adequate. It is tough for the center passenger due to the high floor hump. However, the passenger cabin has been intended to be highly comfortable for two people. In addition, two AC vents have been installed in the passenger compartment. The most notable feature is the installation of two AC vents in the roof. Seatback pockets have also been installed in both front seats.
Performance
The 2.5 liter inline 4-cylinder engine powers the Toyota Crown. This engine produces 176 horsepower and 220 Newton-meters of torque.
The automatic transmission is linked to the 2.5 liter inline 4-cylinder engine. This is a car with rear wheel drive. The two front wheels are turned by these two motors because the Toyota Crown is a 2-in motor hybrid vehicle.
The Toyota Crown gets 10 kilometers per liter of fuel. And the fuel tank holds 65 gallons. So, based on this capacity, you may drive 650 kilometers.
Ride Quality
When it comes to the Toyota Crown ride, the windscreen provides a nice vision. The four rear silencers also produce a pleasing sound. There is some body roll. However, like with other things, the Toyota Crown provides us with a comfortable ride.
Safety & Technology
Safety is something that we all require. As a result, safety must be considered both when designing and purchasing a vehicle. So, if you plan to purchase a Toyota Crown, you should be aware of its safety features. So, let’s examine what type of protection Toyota Crown has received from the makers.
Airbags have been installed for both the driver and the front passenger.
The Crown’s safety features include automatic braking, lane departure warning, and ABS. Lane departure warning is a function that was designed with the safety of warning while leaving the lane in mind.
As a result, the Toyota Crown’s safety rating has three stars.
