Land Rover Discovery Sport 2015 Review

Land Rover is part of Jaguar Land Rover; a multinational car manufacturer affiliated to Tata Motors, India since 2008. Its main product range includes four-wheel drive, off-road vehicles and is also known as a British brand. Land Rover is currently manufactured in Brazil, China, India, Slovakia and United Kingdom. Here, we want to focus on the Land Rover Discovery Sport. a sturdy, luxury compact SUV.

Today at CarsGuide, we are reviewing the Land Rover Discovery Sport 2015 vehicle which is part of the first generation of Land Rover Discovery Sport.

Exterior Design

When we look at this vehicle, we see a good sporty look. Also, when talking about the front view of the vehicle, fog lights and Xenon headlights are seen, with two electrodes in a Xenon headlight. An electric current is passed through the Xenon gas to create an arc between these two electrodes and to generate an intense white or bluish light.

Also, daytime running lights, signal lights and headlights, dim lights of this vehicle have all been provided with LEDs. This is a wraparound LED light. Also, when looking at the front, we can see a wide design bonnet and comes fitted with headlight washers.

In general, you can see that the body is fixed on top of the chassis of any vehicle. However, since this Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicle is made of the same aluminum structure, we cannot identify the chassis and body separately. Also, because the body is made of the same material, the weight of this vehicle is very low.

Now let’s see how the side view of the vehicle is designed. When talking about the side mirrors of the vehicle, we see a power retractable mirror option. Also, since it is an off-road vehicle, you can see two roof rails.

Coming to the rear view, we can see the ‘Discovery’ badge. Also, you can see the Land Rover badge below it on the side. Also, a full LED light can be seen in the rear view. This LED light has two parts – one, fixed to the tailgate and the other part to the body of the vehicle.

We can see 20-inch original alloy wheels on this vehicle.

Generally, vehicles like Hatchbacks, Sedans, Compact Sedans have an average ground clearance. Similarly, this Land Rover Discovery Sport compact SUV also has an average ground clearance which may be between 190 – 200 mm. But the ground clearance of this vehicle is 212 mm.

You can open the tailgate through a button attached to it. This vehicle has a boot space of 280 liters. We can fold the seats in the 2nd row and 3rd row forward and increase the boot capacity. The special thing is that separate controllers have been provided to fold the seat forward.

Interior Design

When talking about the Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicle, it can be said that the interior is generally designed with high-quality materials, hence a stylish interior.
Seven leather seats are included in this vehicle. Usually, we find electric seats in other vehicles on the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat. But all these seven seats have power adjustment.

Talking about the drive cabin, a large armrest has been provided. There is a good storage area under this armrest. Several drive modes can be viewed in the control area. In this area we can also see the gear knob. When the vehicle is started, this gear knob comes up. You can shift the gear only by stepping on the brake. With good legroom and good headroom, the front passenger and the driver can travel very comfortably.

Next, when we talk about the passenger cabin, it can be very comfortable just like the drive cabin. Generally, in vehicles with a 7-seat capacity, in the 3rd row, it is a bit difficult for adults to fit in. But in this vehicle, anyone has the chance to be in the 2nd row as well as in the 3rd row. Because the 3rd row has been designed with a good amount of space. That means, you can see good legroom and headroom just like in the 2nd row. Also, a panoramic roof for the 3rd row passengers is included.

An 8-inch touch screen, 10 speakers, an infotainment system with Bluetooth and three USB ports are among the features of the Land Rover Discovery Sport car. Satellite radio, HD radio, 11-speaker audio system and navigation are also included among these features. This navigation system is an automobile control. Or, a third-party add-on used to find the direction of a car. This usually uses a satellite navigation device to obtain data about the location of the vehicle.

Performance

This vehicle has a turbocharged 2 liter four-cylinder engine.
This engine generates 240 hp. It also provides a torque of 430 Nm.
It has a nine-speed automatic transmission.

It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds. And the top speed is 117 mph. This vehicle has a fuel consumption of 8.3 liters per 100 km. So, since the fuel tank capacity is 65 liters, according to this capacity, you can drive 783 km. The other thing is that this vehicle has standard four-wheel drive.

Ride Quality

Whether you go off-road or on the highway with the Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicle, the ride feels the same to us. Also, because this vehicle has an all-independent suspension, it provides an excellent ride.

Also, this vehicle has good controllable and driving dynamics. This dynamic control feature helps to maintain the overall stability while driving, and to maintain proper traction for the vehicle when driving under adverse conditions.

Safety & Technology

We can see three types of airbags in this vehicle. That is, front side airbags, side curtain airbags and driver knee airbags. This knee airbag protects the driver’s knees and legs from injury in a frontal collision.

Anti Lock brakes, stability and traction control, a rear-view camera and parking sensors are among the standard safety features of the Land Rover Discovery Sport.And since this is an off-road vehicle, it has hill descent control and hill start assist control.

In addition, optional safety features include blind spot and rear cross-traffic alert systems, lane departure warning, frontal collision warning and an automatic braking system to reduce frontal crashes. If we talk about this automatic braking system, this system scans the things in front of the vehicle using sensors like radar, video, infrared or ultrasonic. After that, if the frontal crash is correctly detected, this automatic braking system is used to prevent the crash.Also, the Land Rover Discovery Sport vehicle has won a five-star safety rating.
