BMW M4 2014 Review

Wherever you go, you can identify BMW vehicles on the road. But do you know what BMW stand for? The acronym is for Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH. The BMW was first manufactured in 1917 by Rapp-Motorenwerke, a Munich business.

So today we’re talking about the BMW M4, a car designed by BMW M, the company’s motorsport branch. The M4 is also a convertible, high-performance variant of the BMW 4 series, which has been on the market since 2014. So, here at Cars Guide we take a look at the BMW M4, manufactured in 2014.

Exterior Design

When it comes to the appearance of the M4, the front has LED daytime running lights. LEDs are used in both the main beam and the low beam headlights. As special features, it includes main beam assist, adjustable headlights, and dynamic cornering lights. Windshield wipers are visible. You can also see the BMW symbol.

Tinted glass, a sunroof, and body-coloured door handles may be seen on the side. A, B, and C are the three pillars. There are only two doors on the M4.
To the rear side of the M4, it has been provided dual exhaust pipes. LEDs are used in the rear lights. The BMW emblem is in the center of the tailgate, while the M4 logo is on the side of the tailgate. We also get to view a shark fin antenna.

When it comes to ground clearance, the M4 has a 120 mm clearance. However, due to the coupe class, the average ground clearance should be between 135 and 140 mm.
The boot space of the M4 is 445 litters. Although the boot opening appears to be small, it is actually a good boot space.

Interior Design

The driver cabin has two leather seats. There is plenty of leg and headroom which are adequate. On the passenger side, there is normally a good glove box. An armrest and cup holders are included. The speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and coolant temperature are all shown in analog on the meter console.

The passenger cabin has three leather seats. To enter the passenger cabin, you must fold the front seats forward. The leg and headroom are limited. However, you can typically travel comfortably. Although the passenger compartment has three seats, it is ideal for two passengers.

Performance

A 3.0 Litter 6-cylinder engine powers the M4. This engine generates 431 horsepower and 550 Newton-meters of torque. And the engine produces a powerful feel between 1 500 and 2 000 RPM.

The 3.0 Litter 6-cylinder engine is coupled to a DCT transmission with seven speeds. Also, the M4 can be seen as a rear-wheel drive vehicle.
The M4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 280 km/h.

Ride Quality

Let us now discuss the M4’s ride quality. The driver has good visibility from its windshield, side mirrors, and rear-view mirror. The engine noise is also less heard in the cabin when driving. Body roll is reduced. So, with these modifications, we can achieve a generally good ride from the M4 that matches its name and its appearance.

Safety & Technology

In terms of safety, the M4 has curtain airbags, side head airbags, and side chest airbags for the driver and front passenger.

The M4’s safety features include traction control, EBD, cornering brake control, brake energy regeneration, and electronic brake assist. Other optional safety features include an anti-theft alarm, blind spot recognition, and parking sensors. The M4 has not yet been crash tested by EuroNCAP. However, the M4 received a complete five-star safety rating when it was first tested in 2014.
