Nissan Skyline 2006 Review

Which would you select if you had to choose between a sports car and a sedan? Between a Nissan Skyline and a sedan, you will undoubtedly choose the Skyline. Because, aside from everyday use, you enjoy the sporty sense of driving a Skyline. The name Skyline was inspired by the Prince automobile company. It created and sold the sedan-type Skyline automobile before merging with Nissan-Datsun. In this manner, the Prince motor company launched the first Skyline in 1957. Skyline has gone through 13 generations thus far. The Nissan Skyline, which belongs to the 12th generation, manufactured in 2006, is the one CarsGuide is evaluating today.

Exterior Design

When it comes to the exterior of the Skyline, the front has Xenon headlights with a unique appearance. This model has no fog lights. There is a basic grill. The Nissan symbol is made in chrome and can be found in the center of this grill. The front bumper on the Skyline is stunning.

Both the front and rear wheels have vented disc brakes on the side. The total length is 4750 mm. There are body coloured door handles and side mirrors.

When we look back, we notice a backup camera. A circular tail light is present. Because of its design, the back has a conventional appearance. The Nissan emblem is designed in chrome in the middle of the tailgate, with the Skyline logo beneath it.

The Skyline has a ground clearance of 135 mm, as specified by the manufacturers. However, the average ground clearance of automobiles in the sedan sector, which the Skyline belongs to, should be 165 mm. When compared to the average, the Skyline’s ground clearance does not match the roads of Sri Lanka.

When it comes to the boot, it doesn’t get much attention. However, for those who merely want a sporty flair, the Skyline’s short boot size will not be an issue.

Interior Design

Skyline sports leather seats in the driver’s seat. These seats have been ergonomically designed. There is plenty of leg and headroom. Small door bins, drink holders, and speakers are provided. The chrome parts on the doors elevate the inside of the Skyline. The dashboard now sports an analog clock. A leather steering wheel is included. The steering wheel is tiltable. Telescopic adjustments are also available. On this steering wheel, we can see the volume up/down button as well as the paddle shifters.
The passenger compartment now has three leather seats. Even though there are three seats, the center seat is difficult to access due to the high floor hump in the middle. The center seat lacks an armrest. There is plenty of headroom. Legroom is insufficient for a tall individual. There are two AC vents in the passenger area as well. There are two pockets on the seat backs. Door bins and bottle holders are not provided.

Performance

A 3.5 Liter V6 engine powers the Skyline. This is an extremely powerful engine. This V6 engine generates 310 horsepower and 362 Newton-meters of torque.
The transmission of the Skyline is a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Skyline is also available with rear wheel drive.
The Skyline accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds. On the highway, it achieves a fuel efficiency of 11.5 kilometers per liter. Although the Skyline’s engine is very powerful, it has a fuel economy of roughly 8 kilometers per liter when driving in the city. This is not the best fuel economy available in a city. A fuel tank with a capacity of 80 gallons has been included.

Ride Quality

When it comes to the ride of the Skyline, it has a sporty handling feel about it. With precise handling, you may enjoy a sporty and responsive driving experience. The Skyline is a lot of fun to drive. Based on these statistics, you can expect a pleasant journey in the Skyline.

Safety & Technology

The Skyline’s safety level will be discussed next. The driver and front passenger are both protected by two airbags. As a result, the amount of damage produced by a collision can be decreased.

Aside from airbags, the Skyline has a limited number of other safety measures. However, traction control, brake assist, ABS, EBD, and ESC systems have been included to ensure the safety of the Skyline. Without this ESC, electronic stability control aids in the prevention of sliding. In addition, when the driver loses control of the car and begins to spins, the brake is applied abruptly. This ESC technology activates the brake automatically to move the car in the appropriate direction. The Skyline has received a three-star safety rating as a result of these factors.
